9. Entry:
(1) The contestant must be above
15 years old (born before Oct. 25, 2010).
Every contestant must sign and tender a
waiver of liability form. Those under 18 must
have a parent or guardian consent form. Every contestant can choose a maximum of
4 individual events (Forms, Weapons
and Push-hands).

A.
Registration Phase 1: Expressing Intent to Participate
a.Fill
out the World Cup Participation Intent Form:
To
assist us in planning the event more accurately, please fill out the
"World Cup Participation Intent Form" before the official opening of
the registration system. Once completed, please send the form to ct.taichi@msa.hinet.net.
The form can be downloaded from the website or find the form at the end of the
World Cup regulations.
b.Obtain the Registration Account
and Password:
After we receive your intent application, we will provide you with a unique account
and registration password. Please keep this password secure, as you will need
it to log into the registration system once it becomes available.
B.
Registration Phase 2: Complete Online Registration
a.Fill out the online
registration form:
After the registration system is officially launched, please log in using your
registration account and password, and
follow the instructions to complete the registration form.
b.Print, review, and sign the registration
form:
The team leader or organization representative must carefully review the online
registration information. After verifying it, please print out the registration
form, sign it, and send a scanned or photographed copy of the signed form via
email.
c.Submit the Waiver of Liability:
Each participant must complete and submit a Waiver of Liability. The
signed paper form should be mailed to the following address:

d.Consent
Form for Minors:
If any participants are under 18 years of age, their legal guardian (parent or
guardian) must complete the consent form and send it together with the waiver.

registration process will be announced soon. Please stay tuned to our
official website for updates.
- Please make sure to complete all registration
procedures by the deadline, August 7. Late submissions will not be
accepted.

(3)The individual event fee is US$40 (or NT1,200) per event, including forms and push
hands (fixed steps or moving steps). Team leaders, coaches and managers free of
charge and box lunches will be provided.
Tai Chi Night banquet fee: US$ 30 per person (or
NT $900)
The group event fee is US$80 per team (or NT$ 2,500).
※Please base the remitted amount
on the exact amount the organizing unit receives. The remittance fee is to be
paid by the sender.
※Refund: Cancellation of
registration and refund will not be accepted for any reason after registration.
Admission to the arena is free of charge. However, personal insurance is not
included.

(4) The number of team leaders, coaches
and managers :
A participating unit with less than 3 contestants shall have a team
leader or coach; 4 to 8 contestants shall have a team leader and one coach
each; 9 to 15 contestants shall have a team leader, one coach, one manager each.
There should be a team leader, 2 coaches, and one manager for more than 16 contestants.
(5) Lunch will be provided for foreign contestants during the
days of their
registered events only. They are
also invited to the Annual World Federation
Meeting andTai
Chi Night Banquet (US$ 30 per person) on October 25th. The meals and receptions,
however, are not provided for those who take part in Group performance
competitions. We can
order meals and banquet on your behalf.
(6) Registration deadline:
Completed registration forms must be received no later than August 7th, 2025.
(7) Date of lot drawing: 2:00 pm on August 30th, 2025, at the National Tai Chi Chuan Association, Taiwan, R.O.C. The
Organizer will assign a staff member to represent any team that is not present
at the drawing.
(8) Check in: 8:00~9:00AM, October
25th, 2025, at the Taipei Arena.
(9) Weight ins of push-hands contestants will be held between 8:00 and 9:00 AM on October 25th, 2025 at the Taipei Arena.
(10) Judges’ meeting: 8:20 AM, October 25th, 2025, at the Taipei Arena.
(11) Team leaders’ meeting: 8:50 AM, October 25th, 2025, at the Taipei
Arena.
10. Schedule:
(1) Saturday, October 25:
group forms, individual forms for the Evergreen Group (excluding other Tai Chi
styles and weapons), fixed-step pushing hands for the Zhuangnien Group (middle-aged,
and senior), and preliminary and knockout rounds for
the Social Group ( late adolescent and young adult) pushing hands competition.
(2) Sunday, October 26:
Individual forms for the Evergreen Group (including other Tai Chi styles and
weapons), individual forms for the Social Group, knockout rounds and final
rounds for the Social Group pushing hands competition.
(3) Note: If the
competition schedule for the above 2 days cannot be arranged smoothly or the
competitions cannot be completed due to the big number of contestants, the
organizers may change the schedule and announce it on the website of the
Federation, and the participating teams or individuals shall not have any
objections.
11. Competition categories and
groups:
A contestant
can register for up to only 4 competitions, including Individual Form or Weapon
Competitions and Push Hands Competitions. The routine
competition will cancel the prompt bell.
(I) Form competitions
(A) Individual Form competitions:
(a) Men and
women’s competitions will be held separately, grouped by
age.

above, limit 2 entries per person. A contestant is limited to 2 entries.
(c) Music will be permitted, but
voice commands are not allowed. No ringing signal during the competition.
(C) Competition Events and time
limits: Participants are
required to submit a waver liability form. Those under 18 must also provide a
guardian consent form.

Notes: 1) If there are less than 6 people (teams) in each form, they can be
merged according to the male and female groups, and then merged into Other Yang's, Other Chen's or Other Tai Chi Chuan forms according to the name of the form. If there
are still less than 3 people (teams) after the merger, the event will be
canceled.
2)
For (12)-(14), if more than 6 people (teams) participate in the same
form, it can be listed as a single competition event. Please specify the full
name of the form in detail. If it cannot be listed as a separate competition
due to lack of details, no objection will be allowed.
3)
If the number of applicants does not reach the standard, the Organizers
will handle the matter of merging (grouping) or canceling, without objection.
(II) Weapon competitions
(A) Individual weapon
competitions:
(a) Men and women will compete
separately grouped the same as individual form competitions. No ringing signal during the competition.
(b) If a grouped weapon has fewer than 3 persons competing, then the weapon will be
combined into other age. If the event still less than 3 persons after
combining, the event will be canceled.
(c) If any weapon competition has
six or more competing teams, and is recognized by the WTCCF, then such weapon competition will become a separate event.
(B) Group weapon competitions:
(a) Each team consists of 5-9 persons for foreign teams of any age and gender. No ringing signal
during the competition.
(b) Music is permitted, but voice
commands are not allowed.
(C) Events and time limits:
1) The time limit for Yang Style 32-Form Traditional
Tai Chi Broadsword is between 3 and 4
minutes.
2) The time limit for 54-Form Traditional Tai Chi Sword is between 4 and
5 minutes.
3) The time limit for 42-Form Tai Chi Sword is between 3 and 4 minutes.
4) The time limit for Zhengzi Tai Chi Sword is
between 4 and 5 minutes.
5) The time limit for Other Yang
Style Tai Chi Weapons (Please specify the full name of the weapon, long
Weapons, Fúchén/ Buddha Dust/ Buddha Whisk, very Short Weapons not included) is
under 4 minutes.
6) The time limit for Other
Chen Style Tai Chi Weapons (Please specify the full name of the weapon, long
Weapons, Fúchén/ Buddha Dust/ Buddha Whisk, very Short Weapons not
included) is under 4 minutes.
7) The time
limit for All Other Tai Chi Weapons
(Please specify the full name of the weapon, long Weapons, Fúchén/
Buddha Dust/ Buddha Whisk, very Short Weapons not included) is under 4 minutes.
Notes: 1) If there are less than 6

(III) Push hands competitions:

Every organization may register up
to two players per class.
2. A consent letter must be signed
by a parent or a legal guardian for participants under 18.
A Waver Liability Form is required
for all push hands contestants.
3. Push-hands
competition rules
(1) Before the match begins,
competitors must first “touch hands.” The referee will give the command “Dashou
– Touch Hands (搭手)”, at which point the competitors connect hands. The referee then
calls “Yubei – Ready (預備)”, and the competitors will perform 2–6 cycles of hand circling (Peng
– Ward-off, Lü – Roll-back, An – Push).
During these 2–6 cycles, when both
competitors reach a balanced position in one of the cycles, the referee will
give the command “Kaishi – Go (開始)”, and the bout officially begins.
(2) The winner of two out of three rounds wins the match. Winners
play another match-up until the final match. Defeated contestants will compete
against other losers to determine their final rankings. If the schedule is
tight, it will be changed to a 2-round system. If both sides win a round, then the judges calculate the
total points to decide the winner. The player with the higher score wins.
(3)Time Limits for Push-Hands Competition
A. Shehui (Social)
( late adolescent and young adult) Group: For Fixed Push-Hands competition, every round shall last 1minute with
a 1-minute break between rounds. For Moving Push-Hands competition, each round shall last two minutes
with 1-minute break in between.
B. Zhuangnien (middle-aged and senior) Group: Only Fixed Push-Hands competition is
available. Every round shall last one minute with a one-minute break in between.
(4)Scoring for fixed-step push
hands:
A.One point will be awarded the contestant who lifts his/her
opponent’s foot off the floor or makes him/her lose balance and move
his or her step in any direction.
B.Two points will be awarded if a contestant causes the opponent to fall
on the floor, which is defined as
“any part of the body above the knees (including the knees) touching the floor”.
(5)Scoring for
moving-step push hands:
A.One point will be awarded to the contestant if any part of his/her
opponent’s foot steps outside the ring.
B.Two points will be awarded the contestant who makes his or her opponent fall on the
floor which is
defined as “any part of the body above the knees (including the knees)
touching the
floor”.
(6)Technical
wins:
A.Moving-step
push hands technical win: When the scoring gap between contestants
reaches six (6)
points or more, the score leader wins the match. This is called a
scoring
technical win.
B.Fixed-step
push hands technical win: When the scoring gap reaches six (10) points
or more, the
score leader wins the match. This is called a scoring technical
win.
(7)No scores:
A.Moving-step
push hands: When both sides step out of bound or fall on
the floor at the
same time or one
immediately after the other, neither side scores.
B.Fixed-step
push hands: When both sides move their step or fall on the floor at the same
time, or one immediately after the other, neither side scores.
(8)For push hands allowable
techniques, please refer to the “International Tai Chi Chuan
Rules” issued by
National Tai Chi Chuan Association. Play is begun in a neutral
position with backs of right wrists touching. Left hands are placed
on (not under) right elbow of opponent. Contestants
engage in their attack or defense moves upon the center judge’s announcement.
(9)The competition floor for
fixed-step and moving-step push hands contests will be set up as
follows :
A.Fixed-step
push hands: A six (6) meters by six meters square padded floor. A raised part,
3-centimeter thick, is in the middle of the square (see Diagram 1)
B.Moving-step
push hands: An eight (8) meters by eight meters square padded floor and in its center is
a circle three meters in diameter. The circle is the boundary of moving-step push
hand contests.

Step Push-Hands Competition Area
12. Demonstrations: (The registration deadline is July 31st, 2025.)
(A) Opening Ceremony: Each demonstration should be up to 400 persons.(Lunch and Banquet
will not be provided)
(B) A stage will be provided for up to 20
persons for the foreigners’ Comprehensive
group demonstration of Tai Chi Chuan and/or weapons. A registration form is required for the performance. The time limit is 6 minutes. Each demonstration will be charged US$80 and a certificate will be presented to each
person in the group. If an introduction of Comprehensive demonstration needs to
be printed on the handbook up to 300 words, an additional US$100 will be charged.
13. Placing and awards:
A) Judging criteria:
(1) According to
the general
rules of Tai Chi Chuan published by National Tai Chi Chuan Association, Taiwan,
R.O.C. The routine score will be calculated up to three
decimal places, with any digits beyond that being discarded without rounding.
(2)
Team
Competition: Each team is limited to 5-12 members for the routine and 5-9
members for the weapon category. If the specified number of participants is not
met, or if the number exceeds or falls short by 1, the team will lose 0.1
points for each additional or missing member. If a participant is absent after
three roll calls, they will be considered as having forfeited.
(3)
Tie-breaking
Criteria for Final Scores: If two competitors have the same final score, the
rankings will be determined in the following order: a. The competitor with the closer average of
two invalid scores to the final score will be ranked higher. The invalid scores
must be fully divided. b. The
competitor with the higher average of two invalid scores will be ranked higher.
c. The competitor with the lower invalid score but higher overall score will be
ranked higher. d. The competitor with
the higher minimum valid score will be ranked higher. e. The competitor with
the higher maximum valid score will be ranked higher.
If the scores are still tied, the rankings will be shared, and the next
ranking will be left vacant. Certificates will be awarded to competitors with
tied rankings, but the trophy (or plaque) will be determined by a draw.
B) Awards:
(a) Individual competitions:
Forms,weapons and Push Hands:
First, second and third place awards (a medal or cup and a certificate)
will be given
for each event. If there are more than 10 participants in an event,
awards (certificate
only) will also be given to the 4th, 5th and 6th
place finishers. When an event has 7 to 9 participants,
five awards will be given. When an event has only 3 to 6 participants, awards
will be given to all participants except for the last two. An event will be cancelled if there are less than 3 participants.
If there are more than 20 persons participating in an event, that event will be
split and awards will be given to 6th place of each event.
(b) Group competitions of forms and weapons:
The top 6 places will each be awarded with a cup and a certificate for
all members if there are 10 or more teams in an event. The top 5 places will
each be awarded with a cup and a certificate if there are 7-9 or more teams in
an event, and if there are less than 6 teams, award numbers will be given two less than competition team numbers on each
event. If more than 13 teams are in an event, that event will be split into 2
events. If less than 3 teams are in an event, that event will be canceled.
Each foreign team must have (5-12) persons for routines (5-9) persons
for weapons). A deduction of 0.1 point from the team’s score will be made for
each head count short. The team name will be called before the contest. The
team will be forfeited if no response
after three calls.
(c) In the individual competition of foreign athletes, though they may
compete with locals, they will be counted and presented awards separately. Each competition category will have a separate "International
Group" award ceremony.
(d) When the awards are presented after the
competition, the winning teams or contestants should go to the main platform to
accept the awards as soon as they are announced. Those who do not come to the
stage to receive the awards immediately, please go to the awards group to
collect them by themselves. The awards will not be sent to the any units or
contestants.
14. Miscellaneous:
(1) Participants
should bring and be responsible for their own equipment, music and competition
clothing. Foreigners may wear their own Tai Chi clothing and there are no
special restrictions. But wearing a robe is not allowed. If they do not have
their own specifications, they can refer to the "International Tai Chi
Chuan Rules" promulgated by the National Tai Chi Chuan Association, Taiwan, R.O.C..
(2) The Organizer will buy public
accident liability insurance for all participants to cover
accidents caused by facilities, but not those that occur during the actual competition.
(3)
Only competitors, demonstrating members, referees, and medical staff are
allowed in the competition area. All other team members and their staff are
prohibited from staying in the actual competition area during competition.
(4) The schedule and location of
all sessions are listed in the competition program; however, if deemed
necessary the Organizer retains the right to alter both the schedule and
location. It is the responsibility of any participant who signs up for more than
two events to ensure that his or her events do not create a scheduling conflict.
(5) All participants should arrive
to Inspection Team for check- in and verification 30 minutes before each event. No roll-call broadcast. If competitors do
not arrive to Inspection Team for check-in before the
match, they will be disqualified.
(6) An Organizer-issued
identification card must be shown at entry of the competition area, otherwise
that person will be declared ineligible for competition.
(7) For push hands contests, all participants should follow the
instructions of the inspection/record official to accommodate any schedule
conflicts.
(8)
During the contest, the participant should not argue with the judge. Arguing with or shouting at the judges will result in a forfeit.
Any serious argument may cause the participant and his/her team to be suspended for two years from the Tai Chi Chuan World
Cup.
(9) After finishing the
performance for each event, competitors must leave the competition area and
stay in the designated area. At the announcement of names of
awards, the competitors should come to the main platform to accept the awards.
(10) Any competitor found using
false identification will be automatically disqualified and handled according
to the Federation’s rules.
(11) In case of an urgent incident during the competition, the contest will be stopped and
declared no points. The Organizer will reschedule the competition.
(12) No food or colored drinks are allowed in the
actual competition area.
(13) Handling of Scheduling
Conflicts ("Overlapping Matches"):
In the event of a scheduling
conflict between group events and individual or choreographed sparring events,
priority will be given to the group event (or choreographed sparring event).
The match order of the individual or choreographed sparring event may be
adjusted accordingly.
The competitor must inform the
check-in staff at the time of check-in. After verification and evaluation by
check-in staff from at least two competition areas, one of the conflicting
event schedules will be adjusted. This adjustment must be confirmed by the
competitor.
The revised match order will be
clearly noted on the check-in sheet of the respective competition area, and the
chief judge of that area must be informed and confirm the change.
(14) Competitors who are feeling unwell must assess their own physical
condition and decide whether or not to participate. The organizing committee
assumes no responsibility for any accidents, injuries, or health-related issues
affecting team staff or competitors.
(15) It is strictly forbidden to
hang flags, erect tents, or set up similar structures inside the
venue. Running, jumping, playing,
or engaging in other dangerous behaviors is also prohibited. Please be mindful
of personal safety.
(16) Insurance plan: Public accident
liability insurance will be purchased during the event. The insurance amount is
NT$3 million for each personal injury or death, NT$15 million for each
accident, and NT$2 million for each property damage accident. The total
insurance amount during the competition period is 34 million yuan. During the
competition, the staff and players of the participating teams should purchase
other relevant personal medical insurance according to their needs.
(17) All
fees are non-refundable.
15.
Arbitration:
(1) The decision
of the chief referee shall be final. If a competitor disagrees with the
decision, they may file an appeal.
(2) The
player’s appeal should be submitted to the Judgment Committee in writing,
signed and stamped by the team leader or coach within 30 minutes after the
match, and the judgment of the Judge Committee shall be final. A deposit of NT$5,000
is required when submitting an appeal. The deposit will be refunded if the
appeal is valid, and will be used as the conference fund if it is invalid. No
objection is allowed.
(3)Any arbitration will follow the
latest “The Regulation of International Tai Chi Chuan”.
16. The participant count and estimated competition times in the forms
competition schedule serve as reference only. The actual participant count and
competition schedule will be determined by the execution committee of the event
and should not be used as grounds for appeals.
18. Any issues not covered herein will
be discussed and decided by the Championship Committee.

Liability Waiver for Events held by World Tai
Chi Chuan Federation (WTCCF)
I acknowledge that this athletic event is an extreme test of a
person’s physical and mental limits and carries with it a
potential for serious injury or death. The
risks include, but are not limited to, actions of other people
including, but not limited to, participants, volunteers, spectators, coaches,
event officials, event monitors and/or producers of the event; lack of
hydration, permanent
debilitation from fracture, traumatic brain injury and rarely, death and/or other natural
conditions. I hereby assume all of the risks of participating in this event.
I certify that I am physically fit, have sufficiently trained
for participation in this event, and have not been advised otherwise by a qualified
medical care provider.
I acknowledge that this Accident Waiver and Release of
Liability (AWRL) form will be used by WTCCF and the sponsors of the
event in which I may participate, and it will govern my actions and responsibilities at
the said event.
In consideration of my application and permitting me to
participate in this event, I hereby take action for myself, my executors,
administrators, heirs, next of kin, successors, and assigns to (A) waive,
release, and discharge from any and all liability for my death, disability
personal injury, property damage, property theft or actions of any kind which
may hereafter accrue to me or my traveling to and from this event,(B)
indemnify and hold harmless all entities or persons mentioned in this paragraph,including but not
limited to WTCCF, and their directors, officers, employees,
volunteers, representatives and agents, the event sponsors and event volunteers
from any and all liabilities or claims made by other individuals or entities as
a result of my actions during this event.
I hereby consent to receive medical treatment that may be
deemed advisable in the event of injury, accident, and/or illness during this
event at my own expense.
I understand that at this event or related activities I may be
photographed. I agree to allow my photos, videos, or
film likeness to be used for any legitimate purpose by the event holders,
producers, sponsors, organizers, and/or assigns.
This AWRL shall be construed broadly to provide a release and
waiver to the maximum extent permissible under the applicable law.
