來自25個國家，153支隊伍參加，與會太極拳同道多達萬人以上，
呂副總統親臨開幕式，這是繼創下萬人打太極拳世界金氐紀錄之後，太極拳界的最大盛會，總會投入空前的人力、物力、財力。
世界杯比賽圓滿成功，獲得各界好評。
153 team from 25 countries participated in the "2006 1st World Cup Taijiquan Championships", with more than 10,000 fellow Taijiquan participants, and Vice President Lu of the ROC came to the opening ceremony in person. This is one of the most successful world Taijiquan events after Taiwan set the world golden record of 10,000 people playing Taijiquan together.
The grand event invested unprecedented human, material and financial resources, and the World Cup was a complete success
It has won praise from Taiji practitioners around the world.
