Article 1
The Republic of China National Tai Chi Chuan Association (hereinafter referred to as “the Association”), in order to promote the art of Tai Chi Chuan, provide Tai Chi enthusiasts with progressive lifelong learning goals, and establish standards for achievement recognition, hereby formulates these Standards.
Article 2
The highest rank in Tai Chi Chuan Forms is the 10th Duan, while the beginner level starts from the 6th Grade.

The evaluation items for Tai Chi Chuan Forms Duan and Grade certification are as follows:

Article 4
The Forms evaluation criteria are divided into the following ten principles:
Empty and lively energy at the crown (虛靈頂勁)
Upright spine and proper posture (垂脊正身)
Containing the chest and extending the back (涵胸拔背)
Sinking the shoulders and dropping the elbows (沉肩垂肘)
Relaxing the waist and settling the kua (鬆腰坐胯)
Rounded crotch and bent knees (圓襠曲膝)
Whole-body relaxation (全身放鬆)
Whole body integrated as one unit (週身一家)
Clear distinction between substantial and insubstantial (虛實分清)
Continuous circular softness (圓柔貫串)
Article 5
Applicants for 1st to 3rd Duan who pass the Forms examination must also complete oral and written examinations to evaluate their understanding of Tai Chi theories and classics, including:
Tai Chi Classics (太極拳經)
Treatise on Tai Chi Chuan (太極拳論)
Song of the Thirteen Postures (十三勢歌)
Mental Elucidation of Practicing the Thirteen Postures (十三勢行功心解)
Pushing Hands Song (打手歌)
Song of Essence and Application (體用歌)
Article 6
Tai Chi Chuan Duan and Grade evaluations may be conducted regularly according to actual needs, or jointly organized with coach and referee training seminars.

II. Service Point System
Points are awarded based on service positions in competitions and events organized at county/city, national, Chinese Cup, World Cup, or international levels.
(Examples include President of the Event, Secretary General, Referee Chairperson, Judges, Team Coaches, Staff Members, etc.)

Maximum accumulated points for each category are capped at 120 points.

One self-selected empty-hand form and one weapon routine

Pass B-level coach/referee certification examinations

Three Tai Chi-related articles (3,000+ words each)
Minimum 16 years promoting Tai Chi and serving as coach with valid international-level certification
8th Duan
Requirements:
Minimum accumulated points: 480
Publication of Tai Chi-related work (10,000+ words) or a book
Minimum 20 years promoting Tai Chi and coaching with valid international-level certification
9th Duan
Requirements:
Distinguished contributions to Tai Chi promotion and authorship achievements
Minimum 26 years promoting Tai Chi and coaching with valid international-level certification
At least 12 years serving as chairman, vice chairman, executive director/supervisor, secretary general, or chief executive within the Association or related organizations
10th Duan
Granted by recommendation of the Association to individuals with profound Tai Chi accomplishment and outstanding contributions to the Association, subject to approval by the General Assembly.
Article 9
Those who pass the Duan or Grade evaluation shall be awarded official Duan/Grade certificates by the Association.
Article 10
Individuals with outstanding contributions to the promotion of Tai Chi Chuan or with special achievements may receive:
Certificates of Appreciation
Honorary Duan Titles
Contribution Awards
“Special Contributions” include:
Bringing honor to the nation
Extraordinary sacrifice and dedication to Tai Chi
Publishing international Tai Chi literature or works
Major financial sponsorship of Tai Chi activities
Outstanding contributions recognized by government authorities
Other special achievements related to Tai Chi development
Article 11
Organization and Duties of the Duan & Grade Evaluation Committee
The Association shall establish a Tai Chi Chuan Duan & Grade Evaluation Committee consisting of a Chairperson, Vice Chairpersons, and committee members appointed by the Chairman.
Duties include:
Evaluating members and Tai Chi enthusiasts
Evaluating affiliated members applying for 3rd Duan and above
Reviewing disputed evaluations
Supervising affiliated branches’ certification activities
Handling other related certification matters
Affiliated associations and branches shall also establish their own Evaluation Committees.
Article 12
Applicants for Duan or Grade certification must:
Be members under an affiliated group member organization
Belong to organizations that have fully paid annual membership fees
Be recommended by the head of their affiliated organization

Evaluation fees are non-refundable if failed.
Duan Conferment Fees
Same fee structure as above.
If evaluation is failed, the conferment fee shall be fully refunded.
Honorary Duan certificates and medals awarded for special contributions are exempt from fees.
Article 14
Required Supporting Documents
Applicants must submit:
Copies of proof documents for accumulated points
Completed application forms and data cards
Recommendation signatures from the affiliated organization
Special rules are provided for applicants unable to fully document previous point records.
Article 15
Responsibilities of Affiliated Associations and Branches
When accepting applications, staff members shall:
Verify completeness of application forms
Request corrections for incomplete documentation
Submit applications and fees to the Association for review and certification issuance
Ensure payment of evaluation and conferment fees
Submit collected fees for jointly organized coach/referee seminars and Duan evaluations
Ensure officially operating martial arts schools possess at least 3rd Duan qualification
Article 16
These Standards shall be implemented upon approval by the Board of Directors.
Article 17
These revised Standards were approved at the 6th Joint Meeting of the 14th Board of Directors and Supervisors on August 24, 2024.

第一條:中華民國太極拳總會(以下簡稱總會)為推廣太極拳術,幫助太極拳愛好者訂定終 生學習之進階目標,亦為成就之依據,特訂本準則。
第二條:太極拳套路,最高為十段,初階為六級。 段 次 級 次 十 九 八 七 六 五 四 三 二 一 一 二 三 四 五 六
第三條:太極拳套路段級鑑定項目如左: (一)拳術演練 (二)口試(一段以上) (三)筆試(一段以上) (四)資料審查 (五)教練裁判證申請
第四條:套路鑑定項目細分十項如左:
1.虛靈頂勁 2.垂脊正身 3.涵胸拔背 4.沉肩垂肘 5.鬆腰坐胯 6.圓襠曲膝 7.全身放鬆 8.週身一家 9.虛實分清 10.圓柔貫串
第五條:一至三段之套路演練,經鑑定之及格人員,應接受口試及筆試,測驗其對太極拳經、 太極拳論、十三勢歌、十三勢行功心解、打手歌、體用歌等拳理之瞭解程度。
第六條:太極拳鑑定晉升,得視實際需要經常辦理或與教練裁判講習會併案辦理。
第七條:太極拳拳架「段」、「級」鑑定之年資與積分說明如下:

一、太極拳套路「級」之鑑定參考標準:
六至一級,經拳式演練及格者,晉升一級。 各門派可編輯教材鑑定之。(套路參考:太極拳十三式、二十四式、三十七式、 四十二式、六十四式、九十九式、一○八式、一二七式、易簡六十四式,及各 家傳統套路等。)
晉六級者,鑑定:(1)太極基本步法(2)基本功
晉五級者,鑑定:(1)太極八法(2)太極拳十三式
晉四級者,鑑定:太極拳套路半套或十三式一套(術科滿60分)
晉三級者,鑑定:太極拳套路一套(術科滿60分)
晉二級者,鑑定:太極拳套路一套(術科滿70分)
晉一級者,鑑定:太極拳套路一套(術科滿70分)
二、太極拳套路「段」之鑑定方式及標準:
晉一段者,鑑定:(1)自選套路、器械各一套(術科平均滿80分,段位累積分 滿60分)。 (2)丙級教練裁判講習會考試合格(學科平均滿80分,術科 平均滿80分)。 (3)取得丙級以上教練裁判證,得憑丙級以上書面申請一段。
晉二段者,鑑定:(1)自選套路、器械各一套(術科平均滿85分,段位累積分 滿120分)。 (2)乙級教練裁判講習會考試合格(學科平均滿80分,術科 平均滿80分)。 (3)取得乙級以上教練裁判證,得憑乙級以上教練裁判證書 面申請二段。
晉三段者,鑑定:(1)自選套路、器械各一套(術科平均滿90分,段位累積分 滿180分)。 (2)甲級教練講習會考試合格(學科平均滿80分,術科平均 滿80分)。 (3)取得甲級教練證,得憑甲級教練證有效期內,書面申請 三段。
晉四段者,鑑定:(1)自選套路、器械各一套(術科平均滿90分,段位累積分 滿240分) (2)甲級裁判講習會考試合格(學科平均滿80分,術科平均 滿80分)。 (3)取得甲級裁判證,得憑甲級裁判證有效期內,書面申請 四段。
晉五段者,鑑定:(1)自選套路、器械各一套(術科平均滿90分,段位累積 分滿300分)及太極拳相關著作一篇(三千字以上)。 (2)國際級教練裁判講習會考試合格(學科平均滿80分, 術科平均滿80分)。 (3)取得國際級教練裁判證,得憑國際級教練裁判證有效期 內,書面申請五段。
晉六段者,鑑定:(1)段位累積分滿360分 (2)教學示範 (3)太極拳相關著作一篇(三千字以上)。 (4教練太極拳滿十一年,並取得體總核發之國家級教練裁判 證者。
晉七段者,鑑定:(1)段位累積分滿420分 (2)教學示範 (3)太極拳相關著作三篇(每一篇限三千字以上)。 (4)推廣太極拳及擔任教練滿十六年,並取得總會核發之國 際級教練裁判證者。
晉八段者,鑑定:(1)累積分滿480分。 (2)發表太極拳相關著作(一萬字以上)或書籍。 (3)推廣太極拳及擔任教練滿二十年,並取得體總核發之國 際級教練裁判證者。
晉九段者,鑑定:(1)推行太極拳卓著功勳,有著作者。 (2)推廣太極拳及擔任教練滿二十六年,並取得總會核發之 國際級教練裁判證者。 (3)曾在中華民國太極拳總會及前身、太極拳國際聯盟總 會,及各協會擔任正副理事長、常務理監事或秘書長(總 幹事)總計十二年以上者。
晉十段者,鑑定:由總會推薦太極拳功夫造詣精深、對本會貢獻重大者,提會 員大會頒贈。
第九條:太極拳套路鑑定合格段次人員,由總會授與段級證書。
第十條:熱心推行太極拳功績卓著,或特殊貢獻者,由總會授予感謝狀、榮譽段階及貢獻獎 狀。
「特殊貢獻」包含: 1.為國爭光者 2.對太極拳界有特殊犧牲奉獻者 3.國際性太極拳有文件刊物著作 者 4.贊助太極拳活動鉅資者 5.對太極拳發展有卓越貢獻,經主管機關褒獎者 6.其他特殊相關事蹟貢獻者
第十一條:太極拳段級鑑定委員會組織與執掌
一、總會設太極拳段級鑑定委員會,設置委員若干人,主任委員,副主任委員及委 員由理事長提名,經理事長同意後聘任之,其執掌如左:
(一)鑑定總會所屬會員及太極拳愛好者。
(二)鑑定所屬協分支會三段以上(含三段)會員。
(三)審定爭議之評鑑。
(四)輔導總會所屬各協分支會鑑定事宜。
(五)其他有關段級鑑定事宜。
二、各協分支會分別設協分支會段級鑑定委員會,設置委員若干人,正副主任委員 及委員由理事長聘請之,其執掌如左:
(一)受理會員之申請。
(二)鑑定六~一級、鑑定者需具二段以上之資格;一~二段之資格初審鑑定者, 需高於申請者二階以上(書面資料送總會核備),三段以上(含三段)由 總會鑑定後核備。 (三)段級鑑定名冊,及各種書面資料彙報總會。
(四)其他有關段級鑑定事宜。
第十二條:申請太極拳段級鑑定應具備之資格: 1.必須為本會團體會員所屬會員。 2.上述團體會員未欠繳常年會費者,欠繳常年會費者需補繳後,才有推薦權。 3.申請者需由所屬單位負責人推薦之。
第十三條:太極拳段級鑑定報名費、鑑定費及授予費:
一、太極拳段級鑑定報名費(由各協分支會統一收支):
(一)申請「級」資格鑑定者,一~三級每人繳納報名費新台幣三百元整, 四~六級每人繳納報名費新台幣二百元整。
(二)申請「段」資格鑑定者,每人繳納報名費新台幣五百元整。
二、太極拳段級鑑定費與授予費簡稱鑑定授予費(由總會統一收支):
(一)太極拳「級」鑑定授予費新台幣三百元整,不通過不予退費。。
(二)「段位」鑑定費: 太極拳「段」位鑑定費(新台幣):一段500元、二段1000元、 三段1500元、四段2000元、五段2500元、六段3000元、 七段3500元、八段4000元、九段4500元。 鑑定不通過不予退費。
(三)「段位」授予費: 太極拳段位授予費(新台幣):一段500元、二段1000元、 三段1500元、四段2000元、五段2500元、六段3000元、 七段3500元、八段4000元、九段4500元整。 鑑定不通過,授予費全額退還。
(四)推行太極拳卓著功勳及特殊貢獻者,授予榮譽段證書及勳章,不予收 費。
第十四條:申請段級鑑定應繳納證明文件: 一、檢覈受鑑定者之積分累算之相關證明文件影本,於每次申請新段位需重新附件。 二、凡第2次(含)以上申請晉升新段位鑑定時者,因上次鑑定之相關證明文件遺失, 無法確實證明積分時,得採下列方式計算積分: (一) 原累積分:以最近一次取得段位,該段位通過最低積分為其原累積分。另其 中五大項目積分認定,採平均值計算認列各五大項目積分。 例:五段升六段時,原五段通過積分為300分,認列原累積分為300分,各五大 5 項目平均為60分,每一項認列積分為60分,另每一大項目積分累計上限為120 分,超過積分部分不列入積分計算。
(二)新累積分:相關證明文件日期認定,自從上次鑑定日後才取得積分證明文件 為準,計算新增積分。 (三)最後累積分:上列原累積分加新累積分為最後累積分。
三、凡申請者,應詳填申請書與資料卡,推薦單位及負責人需簽章。
第十五條:各協、分、支會工作人員受理申請文件時,應注意事項:
一、受理申請時,應審查申請書各欄是否詳填齊全。
二、審查證件不齊者,請依規定補正後,始予受理。
三、依申請人申請段級類別,列冊建檔管理,連同申請書及各種應備之資料卡暨 鑑定授予費,報總會複審及核發鑑定證書。
四、依各級教練證裁判證資格,申請段位需繳納鑑定費與授予費。
五、各協分支會辦理各級教練及裁判講習會合併辦理套路段位鑑定,需上繳鑑定 費與授予費至總會。
六、凡總會團體會員所屬會員正式開館授徒者,應具有總會授予三段以上之資格。
第十六條:本準則經理事會通過後實施。
第十七條 本準則經本會113年8月24日第14屆第6次理監事聯席會議通過。
